How We Work With Builders and Homeowners
New builds and renovations run on sequence, so our part has to land when it's meant to.
Rough-in is scheduled around the frame and before the linings go on. Getting cable runs, conduit and mounting blocks in at this stage avoids cutting into finished walls later.
We'll go over the plans with you before anything is pulled through. Power point positions, lighting layouts, data cabling and future solar provisions are all cheaper to decide now than to retrofit.
Fit-off covers switches, outlets, fittings and the switchboard, followed by testing and certification. Everything is documented before handover so the paperwork is ready when you need it.
Renovation work regularly uncovers sub boards, hot water units and wiring sitting in inconvenient or non-compliant positions. Relocating them frees up space and costs far less while the walls are already open.

The layout needs to be settled before rough-in, which happens once the frame is up and before linings go on. Decisions made after that point mean cutting into finished surfaces.
Any new circuits must meet current standards, but existing wiring only has to be brought up to date where the renovation work affects it. That said, a renovation is usually the cheapest opportunity to deal with wiring already near the end of its life.
Conduit for future solar, a circuit for an electric vehicle charger and data cabling are the three most commonly regretted omissions. Running empty conduit during construction costs very little compared with retrofitting it afterwards.
